Helping with ACAP's Community Closet.

  • Sorting through clothes

  • Organize so people can see them

  • Can go anytime and ask to help

Woman Browsing in Clothing Store

Each day tons of clothes are donated to ACAP. These clothes are then sorted, hung and displayed in their outdoor community closet outside of their Main St location, near Walmart. At this time they are both blessed and cursed with a lot of donations!! This is pretty labor intensive. They have said they need help!! They need folks to sort out these clothes and get them out there so they can get to the people that need them, they are completely free!! They have asked for help to work through the bags and bags of items. To make it the best use of people's time, they are asking folks to come during business hours so Kim can show them what needs to be done. Any time is great, an hour, two hours, the whole day! For best results grab a friend and sign up.

Providing meals for ACAP's Hope & Prosperity Center

  • Preparing a meal

  • Delivering a meal

Food Packaging

ACAP is the home to the Hope and Prosperity Center. Each day nearly 20 individuals spend time at the center. The center allows one space in the same day access to all of ACAP’s programs such as coaching (including recovery coaching), workforce development, housing, preventative health and other services, as well as those offered by partner agencies. While there they get connected and get great service. They are also inside and are provided a warm meal. A meal train has been set up to allow the community to provide these meals. I'd challenge our folks to provide the meals for the week of October 3-7. While this may shine light on such a hands on opportunity it may spread further into October. It is so simple and easy to access. Check out this link for details http://Mealtrain.com/400qr5
